Borno,Ogun dominate squash

Borno and Ogun States are poised for a rousing finish in the Squash event of the Abuja 2004 National Sports Festival with the two states featuring two players each in the final stages of the squash competition, reports nigeriasports.com

Ogun are parading two players-Ayo Ajani and Gbenga Adeyi- in the semi-finals of the men's event while Borno have one player-Amos Haruna- in the men's semi-final and another one in the final of the women's category.

Borno's Paulina Clement slugs it out against Edem James in Tuesday's final of the women's event which comes up inside the main court of the squash arena at the National Stadium in Abuja.

The odds however favour James who already has established herself as a prodigious talent on the junior circuit. Semi-final matches of the men's event also come up tomorrow at the same venue where gold medal favourite Efe Ehalem of Edo State confronts Ajani just as Adeyi takes on Haruna.

Ehalem it was who caused a stir in one of the men's quater-final matches when he had to make a dramatic comeback in his game with Orobosa of Delta State. Ehalem came back from 0-8 match ball to eventually ease out Orobosa.
