Edo, Delta, Bayelsa set the pace

Edo, Delta and Bayelsa State lead others on the medals table as the sports festival attains climax in Abuja.

Edo currently lead other competitors with (17 Gold, 13 Silver and 7 bronze medals) followed by Delta state with (3 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze)

Bayelsa state occupies the third spot with (3 gold medals, 3 silver and one bronze) closely followed by Imo, Lagos and Plateau.

Technical chairman Mr. Brown (Juju man) of Edo State says the state will still come out tops like they did last year, despite strong challenge from Delta and others.

“We are here to compete and also to defend our title. We have the best athletes the country can boast of and we will still come out on top” he told Nigeriasports.com

“We give our athletes the needed support to excel and that trend will certainly reflect here at the end of the day”

Brown added d that the State governor, Lucky Igbinedion who was present during the opening ceremony of the festival has also promised to give the needed support to the contingent.

“The governor has announced a huge reward for all successful athletes and am sure this will spur them further” he concluded.

Well Edo i want to believe the lead this time is not by intimidation as earlier reported. Then WELL DONE AND MORE GREACE TO YOUR ELBOW. I think other state governors should consult gov. igbinedion for share of his wisdom.or else, in no distance time, there wont be any need for competition we will just sit down and watch Edo state perform.Well done also Mr Brown-the Good man and not the other way.
