Federal Government to support private sector sport

Nigeria's vice president, Atiku Abubakar
The Federal Government says it would henceforth allow a 100% free tax on profits of any investment in sports development by the private sector in Nigeria.

This declaration was made by the Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at the first Governors Sports Conference held at the Conference hall of the Nicon- Hilton Hotels Abuja.

The Vice President enjoined the corporate bodies, private sector and individuals to take advantage of the Government gesture and take the lead in the provision of sports infrastructures and its maintenance as is practiced in the developed world.


Over ten Governors, five deputies, and at least fifteen sports commissioners as well as stake holders attended the conference.
