Yobe Governor wants more sporting facilities

Governor of Yobe state, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, says that his state is more concerned now with the provision of infrastructures which they lacked and led to the the downward movement of Yobe in the Sports ladder of Nigeria.

In a chat with nigeriasports.com the Governor said the decision became necessary to help athletes who are desirous of performing but got discouraged by lack of facilities.

He said the state has almost completed the provision of basic facilities in schools, a development he believed will see the state get to the top in four to five years.

“In the next four years, when our sports developmental efforts would have come to fruition, we hope to be at the top.”

“We are improving every year. We are no longer at the bottom as usual. We are working hard towards achieving the basic goal which is provision of infrastructure and from there, we move ahead”
