Edo stays calm

The defending State in the last National Sports Festival Edo State have geared up to protect there title which they won during the last games held in Benin.

Speaking with Nigeriasports.com, the Edo state Sports Commissioner Edwin Ihensiken disclosed that the athletes have geared up to win medals for the state.

According to him, with the calibre of athletes that is representing the state is not the type to be underrated, adding that when it is time no one will stop Edo’s dominance.

“We are not panicking because we brought the best athletes to Abuja. I believe we will excel when the time comes,” he said. He further stated that they would soon start the events that will give them chances to perform and take what belongs to them.

“Very soon track and field event will soon kick off and my athletes will start showing what stuff they are made of. I’m not scared because we are ready to do it again and there is no going back on it,” he noted.

Ihensikean also added that Edo state government had earlier promised to put more efforts to make the state had a successful outing throughout the competition.

“We have the key to success. As far as Im concern the state government would everything to its own power to make sure Edo State remain the best in the tournament,” he said.
