Anambra records first Victory

Anambra State basketball team at the on going 14th national sports festival today surprised even themselves as they beat their oriented brothers Imo state 58-39 to pick their first point in the festival.

The team lost their first match to FCT who walked them over yesterday in their first match because of their late arrival to the venue of the event.

Speaking to nigeriasports.com, the coach of the Anambra male basketball team, Mrs Grace Nnajiofor blamed logistics for their first loss, saying that the team is well prepared and not scared of any opposition.

“We had problems while coming most of the players were bothering on transportation and when we arrive yesterday morning we were told that FCT has worked us over”.

“Today we bounced back on our feet and ready to win the rest of our matches to make up for the loss” she assured.
