Anti-Doping Centre Set for Operations

The building for the anti doping centre at the National Stadium Abuja has been completed, Nigeriasports.com can report.

This was disclosed by the chairman Olympic Committee president Engineer Habu Gumel during the opening ceremony of the national sports medical seminar held at the conference hall, Hockey pitch, and national sports stadium complex, Abuja.

According to him the centre will become operational as soon as the equipments come in and the efforts to have them in are positive.

He encouraged the participants to take the anti doping crusade to athletes and officials at grassroots to let them know that they can perform well without drugs.

“It is important that our athletes are made to understand the dangers involved in taking enhancing drugs”.

“We need athletes who will be good ambassador of Nigeria in and outside the country” he said.

Earlier in his address, the chairman of Nigeria Association of sports medical Inc, Dr. Onabowale Babatunde called for continuous seminar for sports medicine practioners in the country.
