Food trouble at the Games Village According to some athletes, they are yet to taste the meal prepared at the games village despite each state paying the sum of #10,000 per athlete for feeding to the organisers. They has been reported commotion and pandemonium inside the games village over the manner of dishing out foods, while Lagos State contingents are yet to get even a plate of food in the past two days. Interestingly, athletes from Rivers state are praising their Sports Commissioner, Allwell Onyesoh for his kind gesture. Benibo Amiefori, a chess coach told Nigeriasports.com that if not for the commissioner’s initiative they would have ended up like other athletes who are often exchanging blows and groaning in hunger at the village. “Our commissioner brought in three specials cooks to help us in feeding. Here they serve us local Rivers dish and we eat to satisfaction and stupor. We will not disappoint this wonderful man” he said Report by China Acheru in Abuja
