HFN hunt for talents at Abuja Games

The Nigeria Handball Federation (HFN) has informed Nigeriasports.com that the body will be using the 14th National Sports festival to select athletes for the various national teams.

According to the President of HFN, Doctor Lanre Glover it is the only avenue they are trying to explore after futile efforts to stage competitions in the past.

“We hope to pick players from the games. All good players around Nigeria will be converging in Abuja and that will afford us the opportunity of watching the talents and picking players that will fit into our national teams” he told Nigeriasports.com

The Handball Federation only last year disband the senior national team stressing that they plan to return to the grassroots, to develop and select players that will take over from the old ones.

“We hope to revive the stagnant state of the game in Nigeria and we need look to the grassroots to get talents” Tony Nezianya, Public Relation officer of HFN informed Nigeriasports.com
