Lobi set professional standard

The chairman of Lobi Stars Football of Makurdi, Dominic Iorfa has promised to sustain the professional status the club currently portrays.

Iorfa disclosed this to Nigeriasports.com in Makurdi last that for the first time in the history of professional football in Nigeria, Lobi Stars is adopting all forms of professionalism to set a higher precedence for other clubs.

“I’m in Lobi for many reasons which I will like to fulfil before I give way for another administrator. My aim is to make sure I provide the players everything they need to sustain there comfort and also give their undivided attention to games,” he said.

Stressing that playing in Europe for many years exposed him to professionalism and that he is impacting in his home team.

“I played in Europe and understand that every club have uniform for everything from training bags to outfits and any player that disregard the rules get punished” he told Nigeriasports.com

“This is one of the things I’ve initiated in Lobi, you can easily see that players have their training wears at the same time they have the one they wear whenever the team is travelling for away games both in the local league and international matches.”

“We are doing this so that the players will be recognized wherever they go and not people mistaking them for ordinary fans,”

Furthermore, the former Feyenoord of Holland striker noted that “I’ve mapped out a kind of committee that runs our public relation, we are going to have a kind of raffle draw for the club and also release some souvenirs for fans to purchase at a reasonable fee so that we can raise more fund to move the club higher. All these are part of the things we’ve been able to put together and with plans for more as time goes on,” Iorfa concluded.

Meanwhile, Lobi stars will take on Green Buffaloes of Zambia in the next round of their CAF Confederation cup.

Buffaloes qualified at the expense of DC Motembe Tembe on a 7-3 aggregate.

The first leg is billed for May 16 in Makurdi.
