NEPA absolved of stadium blackout

Abuja stadium
The National Electric Power Authority has been absolved of any blame in the present blackout experienced at the nation’s multi-billion naira edifice the Abuja national stadium.

The stadium which was constructed to host the last All African Games has in recent times been a shadow of the magnificent splendour that it was at the time of the games last October due to the blackout which has persisted for over one month now.

While it was initially thought that the fault was from NEPA the chairman of the stadium management task force Architect Albert Ikomi tolday Nigeriasports.com in Abuja that the facility was never connected to NEPA and that they have been operating on generator.

He further stated that there are six gigantic generator sets stationed at different locations in the
complex but for lack of funds they've not been able to procure diesel to run the generators.

He however assured that plans are already on to light up the stadium complex soon.
