Obasanjo orders sale of Games village

The reluctance of President Olusegun Obasanjo in granting approval for the use of the games village for the forth coming National Sports Festival stems from his desire to have the facility sold by the end ofMay.

Though he has since given approval to it's use for the festival but the fear of the facility been vandalised
and therefore derailing his plans of selling it off by the end of May made him thread the courteous part
before releasing it to the Local Organising Committee of the National Sports Festival.

With this development both the Main Organising Committee and the LOC have been left with no option but
to ensure that the festival holds as scheduled from the 3rd to the 16th of May as any shift in date may over shoot the May 31st deadline given for the sale of the games village.
