Rangers and Lobi advance

Rangers and Lobi stars advanced on 4-1 aggregates in the confederation cup after a brilliant second leg at home on Sunday.In Enugu, Rangers bounced back from a disappointing and barren first half to spank visiting El Nasr of Libya 4-0 to advance on 4-1 aggregate. The flying antelopes got all four goals from Ebenezer Ojo 16, Oke Odita 42nd, Oke Ileagu 57th, Ugochukwu Okeke 87th. Lobi fluffed many scoring chances in the first half to the fury of the home crowd.

The cheering Makurdi crowd had to wait till the last three minutes of the game to smile. After a first half littered with great misses, Lobi bounced back in the last three minutes to qualify on a 4-1 aggregate against Express of Uganda. Eneramo got a brace in the 87th and 90th minute to the delight of the cheering Makurdi crowd. Lobi had all to play for in the lasdt three minutes of added time, as second half substitute, Emma Issa added the third.

A great build up from Ismail Sulaiman and Ekene Iwuorie released former Enyimba star, Emma Issa who calmly tapped in the third, in the first minute of added time.. Meanwhile, Express finished the game with ten men after Kambanda Rubin (Express) was red carded in the first half. Express Coach, Andrea Leonard felt his boys failed to take their chances. “My players failed to take their chances but Lobi did and that is the difference” he told Nigeriasports.com Lobi coach, Cooreman says Lobi will need to work hard if they hope to win the cup.
