Injuries, suspensions plague Dolphin

Dolphins, Kingsley Williams
Suspensions to first choice keeper, Sunday Rotimi and full back, Kennedy Chinwo, as well as injury to top striker, Victor Ezeji means Dolphin of Port Harcourt may not have their best players for sunday's league match against Iwuanyanwu Nationale at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Second choice  keeper, Inengite Obhuo will as a result get a rare chance to start in the top of the table cracker between second placed Iwuanyanwu NAtionale and leaders, Dolphin.

Sunday Rotimi had played in every single game for Dolphins but a second yellow card given to him in Jos against Plateau United meant he would be out.

Right full  back, Kennedy Chinwo who has three goals to his name is also out through suspension making way for his elder brother, Albert Chinwo to get a place in the team to Owerri.

Top scorer, Victor Ezeji is still out with a hamstring injury which has led to more playing time for Ibrahim Idoko who returned to the club a month ago  after undergoing and appendicitis operation.

Another new name in the Dolphin roster for tomorrow's match is midfielder, Edwin Yobo, immediate elder brother to Everton of England star, Joseph Yobo.

Deny distraction rumour

Secretary of the club, Fatai Olayinka,  on saturday denied that their Executive Garden Hotel abode will not be a source of distraction for the boys.

The Hotel owned by the Chairman of Iwuanyanwu Nationale of Owerri, Dolphins' opponents on Sunday is almost like a whore house and has girls of easy virtue swarming over the place from 6pm, but Fatai says that will not be a problem.

"We have always stayed in this hotel even when we are playing against Iwuanyanwu like we are on Sunday, even though the chairman of our opponents own the place. And for the girls, we would just caution our boys and make sure they hoild themselves, at least before the game," the Club Secretary told nigeriasports.com.

"We do not expect our boys to  start running after girls the night before a big game. They are very disciplined players and we would never entertain such fears."
