NBBF drags American duo to Zaria

As part of efforts geared at developing the game of basketball from the grassroots, two former national players, Masai Ujuri and Godwin Owuji both based in the United State of America are organizing a basketball camp for selected players from across the country at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria from April 28 - May 1.

The camp will see US based college basketball coaches, Tod Bosma from University of California and Joe Morrison from High school in Seattle, Will Voigt from Norway and Godwin Owuje, a former national player on hands to tutor the young players.

The coaches are expected to arrive on April 26.

The coaches would be joined by three other Nigerian coaches namely Adeka Odaudu, Sanni Ahmed and Mic Akubo while the camp would be coordinated by Dr. Adamu Ahmed, chairman technical committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF).

Masai, who was the assistant coach of the junior national team to World Junior Championship in Greece last year, said the camp would serve as an avenue to select players for the African U-20 championship qualifiers slated for Burkina Faso next month.
