Enyeama sure of second round

Enyeama, a member of the Enyimba side that won the League title last year expressed confidence in the player’s ability to perform well in their defence of the title.

The goal keeper that was voted as the best Goal keeper at the Tunisia 2004 African cup of nations made three brilliant saves in Sunday’s game to prove his sharpness and reflex as one of the continent’s best.

He dislodged reports that Enyimba’s poor run in the league will affect their continental games and quickly noted that the continental competition and Globacom league are two different levels, and the players had resolved to put in an extra effort in their continental campaign.

“Premier League and champions’ league are not the same because in the premier league we know ourselves but in the champions’ league, it’s a different ball game and I believe we will put more effort in order to defend our title,” he told Nigeriasports.com

Contrary to reports that Enyimba blocked his transfer to a foreign side, the Super Eagles goal keeper affirmed that he decided to stay with Enyimba this season to keep shape before making his bold move to Europe in the summer and also to help the club in defending the Caf champions’ league.

“I’m not having any problem with the club and I have an agreement with the club to leave when I am set to. The fact that we are defending the champions league afford me the opportunity to stay in shape and show to the national coach that am not idle somewhere but playing week-in-week out” he concluded.
