NPA MOVES TO ONIKAN

IDOKO APPEASE NPA FANS SAYS "ONIKAN WILL BRING GOOD TIDINGS" Team manager of NPA football club, Mike Idoko has appealed to the numerous NPA fans out there to consider the teams poor runs so far in the league as a thing of the past as events beginning from Wednesdays week 13 home clash with Plateau United would take a different turn.

Speaking to a cross section of Journalists at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium Benin after the 0-3 defeat in the hands of Insurance of Benin last weekend, Idoko announced the relocation of his side from the National Stadium to the Onikan stadium also in Lagos while affirming that the decision had already been ratified by the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).

"We will henceforth play our home matches at the Onikan stadium and no longer at the National Stadium Surulere and we have already secured the permission of the NFA concerning this", he said.
On what might have brought about the movement to the already congested Onikan stadium in terms of the number of teams using the pitch, the Makurdi born administrator insisted that it was only in the interest of the team.

"Our fans have been putting pressure on us to dump the National stadium and we have finally seen reasons with them, we might just be heading for relegation if we fail to heed the call", he stressed further while also stating the clubs readiness to swim out of the present predicament it has found itself. "Let me also inform you that as from now onwards, there is going to be a revolution in our team. We will be going all out against any side that comes our way and this should rather be a note of warning to the rest of the clubs in the league".

Meanwhile, Nigeriasports.com reliably gathered that all intent of hiring a new coach for the team has been suspended by the NPA management pending the results of the teams’ relocation to the Onikan stadium. A vote of confidence has also been passed on Coach Emmanuel Tetteh who is the present chief coach of the side, we further gathered although he has been told to sit up and ensure the club return to winning ways.
NPA currently lie bottom of the sixteen team 2004 Globacom league table with only 8points from 12 matches so far.
