NKWOCHA, EKPO CLEARED FOR PELICAN STARS

AS LEAGUE STARTS MAY 16TH. The Nigeria football Association has formally cleared two Nigerian Internationals, Perpetua Nkwocha and Effionwa Ekpo to play in the 2004 female football league which gets underway in a months time, nigeriasports.com can exclusively report. The two prominent players of the national team who had embarked on a loan spell in China, returned to the country after the 2003 female world cup in the USA but had been unable to play for any team since then due to the late arrival of their International Transfer Certificate ( ITC ).

According to the team manager of the calabar-based club, Ani Oku Ita, the Urban women football club of China has formally released the ITC hence the subsequent clearance of the duo by the NFA.
Both players, It would be recalled, were highly instrumental to the teams’ hatrick of league championship success between 2000 and 2002 with other cup honours as well.

Meanwhile, the Cross River state governor, Donald Duke has released the sum of –N-8million as well as a 32 seater fully airconditioned bus to the team to allow it prosecute successfully the 2004 female league billed to start on May 16th.
The coach Ntiero Effiong led team has been dominating the female football scene in the last 4 years only to surrender the 2003 league title to Delta Stars of Asaba.

I thought Nkwocha and Ekpo were proffessionals in China,have they come back to stay or they just want to play and go back again,whichever way,I wish them best of luck.
