Undefeated London based Nigerian Boxer Segun Ajose at the weekend in Calabar became the new African Light Welterweight champion defeated Beninoise champion, Victor Kpadenou. Victor Kpadenou gave a good account of himself but went home without his title in one of the under cards of the show tagged ‘Battle at the Creeks’ which lasted the whole duration of 12 rounds.

“I respect Kpadenou he was a great champion, he gave a good account of himself” Ajose told nigeriasports.com. Ajose who holds the national title and the WBF intercontinental title said his next target would be the commonwealth title before reaching out for the world belt. “With this victory I hope to be on the rankings now” he added.
