Manning Rangers delay Kennedy Boboye

Haruna Musa of Dolphins
The plans of former Sharks of Port Harcourt striker, Kennedy Boboye to feature for Dolphins of Port Harcourt in the 2004 league season may have hit the rocks following his inability to get his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from his former employers, Manning Rangers of South Africa.

Kennedy Boboye was signed on by Dolphins almost a month ago after presenting a letter of release signed by a management member of the South African Club but the NFA Pro League Department insists he must accompany that release letter with the International Transfer Certificate which is the bench mark requirement for international transfers.

The lanky striker signed the dotted lines for Dolphins after returning from a five month sojourn in South Africa.

Boboye left Sharks midseason last year to join Manning Rangers of South Africa, but after a good start where he scored in his first four matches, he ran into problems with his club when they could not meet up with their financial commitments to him.

“The club was cash strapped and could not pay my wages so I asked to be released since I was being owed four months salaries.” Boboye told nigeriasports.com.

“At first they refused to release me but since it was obvious they could not pay, I think they saw reason and gave me my clearance.”

Boboye would complement the efforts of Victor Ezeji, Kelechi Osunwa, Joe Cole, Uwazuoke Wobo and Haruna Musa who currently play in the central attacking position for the club.

It is not yet clear how much Boboye got from the deal, but nigeriasports.com investigations reveal it could be in the region of nine hundred thousand to 1.2 million naira (about $6,430 to $8, 580)
