First Bank Begins Close Camping

Africa's representative in this year FIBA Women Club championship, 1st Bank Basket ball club, will on April 16 resume for close camping ahead the championship qualifier slated for Brazil in May.

Assistant Coach, Adewumi Aderemi said the camp would involve the home based players while the foreign based would join the team by the end of April. He said the team would depart for Brazil in May 1.

The Elephant Girls will join teams from Brazil, Cuba and the European Champion. The final is scheduled for Russia in October. He also confirmed that the team would  participate in the Athens, Olympic, as they were qualified to represent the country. “Most of the players that would play in the championship will  play in the Olympics as well. We are playing our qualifying series in the world championship and  would be able to represent the Nigeria in the Olympics. Actually, the players that have been invited for now are those that will also play in Athens Games.” He said.
