In order to beef up the club's chances for this year’s Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Enyimba Football club of Aba has cleared the Iwuanyawu FC mid-fielder Bob Osim for the sum of 2million.
The player who played on loan for Ranger FC of Enugu in CAF Cup last season has finally settled with the Aba based team after a long controversy within his club. Osim was among the 35 players invited for the last U-23 home match played in Port Harcourt but later decamped told nigeriasports.com that he signed Enyimba to enable him achieve his goals in football.
According to him, Iwanyanwu Fc has deprived him a lot of chances of playing abroad, as they never
represented the country in any International assignment. He noted that he earlier had an interest in signing for Rangers Fc after they were crashed out in semi-finals of the CAF cup competition.
“I planned playing for Rangers this season but after we crashed out of CAF Cup I didn’t really like what the management did to us. Later last year Enyimba management started asking me to sign for them.”
He lamented that he had earlier made up his mind to leave Iwuanyanwu FC for any club which is ready to
give him better offer than play for his former this season.
“You don’t know what I saw in Iwuanyanwu. I left the club because of the politics there. They don’t pay
salaries, getting allowances after match became a worst. We play football to make money but in
Iwuanyanwu its not like that, we play but other people enjoys the glory. They don’t care about winning the league to play in a CAF competitions, I mean there is no future for players in Iwuanyanwu.”
He stated that he would put more effort to make sure Enyimba achieves its aim through him.
“I was signed more than those once who have played in the club for many years now. And I will make sure I give the club what they want from me that is good football, he said.
