Fans on rampage in Ibadan

Shooting stars players got more than they bargained for as they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting, Lobi stars in one of the Mid-week games, at the Lekan Salami stadium in Ibadan.

Shockingly, Lobi got back into the game in a dramatic fashion.

Substitute, Emma Issah scored from a free kick in the 75th minute, with virtually his first touch of the game.

Lobi fought hard to get a valuable away win but all their efforts got thwarted and the expulsion of national U-23 defender and Lobi defence stalwart Suleiman Ismaila in the 30th minute only did little to help their course.

At the end of the tension soaked encounter, irate shooting fans went bizarre, carrying shoulder high, the visiting Lobi players and hitting hard Shooting players at sight-worst hit was goal keeper, Segun Hamzat, who was beaten to stupor.

Lobi were fulfilled to get a point out of the game: “I think we played well today but we still need work on our finishing prowess” Maurice Coleman, Lobi coach.

“We played well and deserve a win, I am happy we had a fair officiating despite people thinking otherwise about the red card” Domnic Iorfa, chairman of Lobi told Nigeriasports.com after the game.

The outcome of the game once again bings to fore the gory side of the Shooting fans, similar situation led to the team’s banishment to Ilorin last season.
