Yobe Stars sack coach Popo

After a not too impressive first eight weeks in the NFA Pro League Division 1A, the Management of Yobe Desert Stars of Yobe have finally done away with the services of Chief Coach, Ishola Popo.

Media officer of the club, Alloy Chukuwemeka told nigeriasports.com that Coach Popo was sacked for reasons of poor performance, tactical deficiency and insubordination to the management of the team.

“Coach Popo is no longer our coach. He has been sacked, and the place thrown open to any coach willing to apply, but we hope to employ a new coach within one week.”

Coach Ishola was with Mighty Jets of Jos last season and after bringing the cash strapped highland club up to the premiership, he was snapped up by Yobe alongside seven of his players at Jets hoping that he could work the same magic with Yobe Desert Stars.

Before the sack, Yobe Desert Stars were 15th in the 16 team league group.
