Sports Festival upsets athletics calendar The May 3-16 dates earmarked for the sports festival would mean that the AFN had to reschedule two of its sponsored competitions. The Nkoyo Ibori Under-20 Girls Championships earlier slated for May 10-15 now hold May 24-29 and the President Challenge originally billed for May 29 now come up July 3. "The new dates have been communicated to the sponsors who are wife of the Delta State Governor and of course our president Dan Ngerem.And the dates have been confirmed by them ",revealed Sunny Obot,an assistant secretary at the AFN secretariat in Lagos. In a related development, the athletics authorities have cancelled second leg of the AFN Zonal Meets slated for March 26-29 in Bauchi due to the Local Government elections which come up same weekend.
