Kanu denies pay cut

Speaking with Nigeriasports.com from his base in London, the striker noted that talks are on between his agent and the club.

“I wonder where such things emanate from and it is so surprising because I have never spoken to anyone about it this year” he said.

“There’s no such talk as pay cut or whatever and I can only tell you that we are still on the negotiation table and anything can still happen before the end of the season”

Kanu is free to leave The Highbury Stadium in the summer and has been strongly linked with a move away from the club - as he has often been linked to several clubs in the Middle East and the Spanish primera liga.

Although he often struggle to make their first team, Arsenal still appears to be quietly confident about keeping their Nigerian star and talks are likely to continue in the coming weeks over his future.

“All is well with me and you are aware I struggled to get off all the knocks I received at the nations cup which affected my form but am happy and am as fit as a fiddle now”
