ECONET SPLASHES N10M ON NATIONS CUP PROMO

Mobile operator, Econet Wireless Nigeria Limited, is offering subscribers a golden opportunity to win 2
return tickets to South Africa, 10 camera phones, 20 starter packs and several millions of naira worth of
various denominations of recharge cards during the ongoing 24th African Cup of Nations in Tunisia through a quiz competition.

The competition, which is based on the interactive SMS
technology, is open to all Econet subscribers.

To participate, participants are expected to supply
right answers to a number of questions, which will be
sent to subscribers’ phone by SMS. The questions are
multi-choice questions requiring subscribers to pick
the alphabet from (A to E) that shows the correct
answer by sending an SMS containing the word “Quiz” to
1821 while answers can be sent to 182222.

According to the Corporate Affairs Manager, Econet
Wireless Nigeria Limited, Emeka Oparah, the quiz is
intended to test participants’ knowledge of the
history of the Nations Cup, current development and
star players of the round leather game in Africa.

“Participants are required to answer various
questions, with each correct answer attracting one
mark. Total possible score or cumulative point is 10.
Those with the highest scores will automatically
qualify for a Raffle Draw, which will be held in Lagos
at the end of the Cup of Nations.”

Oparah said subscribers would be allowed to build up
marks or scores and are at liberty to make more than
one attempt, to enhance their chances of winning.

He added that those who choose to stop midway will be
rated on the basis of their actual scores at the point
of backing-out of the competition, indicating that
some of the participants may still be able to win
prizes provided their scores fall within the highest
score chart.

The competition will run throughout the duration of
the Nations Cup and the draws will be held soon after.
