Jordan Brand lifts Ugboaja Camp

The 2008 Ejike Ugboaja Basketball Camp receive a boost as the Jordan Brand has throw its weight behind the camp aimed at giving Nigeria budding talents in the slamming and dunking game an avenue to rub mind with expatriate coaches from the United States of America and Europe.

The Jordan Brand one of the big names in sports wear in the USA and other parts of the world are supporting the camp with T-Shirts, playing jerseys and shoes.

Ugboaja a 2006 Cleveland Cavalier draftee told our correspondent that the gesture by the Jordan Brand has gone a long way in projecting the camp as an international event.

Ugboaja who recently contributed to the qualification of Nigeria for the 25th FIBA Africa Championship for Men says about 60 players are expected to feature in this year’s camp which starts Tuesday at the gymnasium of the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria.

He says about seven foreign coaches from the USA and Europe are expected to be joined by fifteen from Nigeria.

He however, promised that the camp will be an annual event as his own contribution to the development of the game in Nigeria.
