Nigeria on course, beat Cote d'Ivoire, Togo

Nigeria senior national team, D’Tigers to the FIBA Africa Zone-3 elimination currently on in Yamoussoukro, Cote d’Ivoire is on course to clinch a place at the 2009 FIBA Africa Championship for Men.

Ayo Bakare tutored side Tuesday defeated host Cote d’Ivoire by 55-45 points to announce to the rest of the zone that it meant business and on Wednesday handed down a 76-43 points win to Togo.

The Tunji Awojobi captained side will observe Thursday as rest day just as Cote d’Ivoire takes to the floor against Togo in the reverse fixture after beating the Togolese side on Monday by 61-51 points.

The Nigerian side made up of nine home-based players and three foreign based will Friday confront Cote d’Ivoire in the reverse fixtures and on Saturday will play her last match against Togo before jetting back home on Monday aboard a Bellview Airlines.
