Raptors promote Masai to AGM
Good news for Nigerian basketball former national player and assistant coach of nation U19 national team, Masai Ujiri has just been promoted again by his NBA team, Toronto Raptors.
Masai as he is fondly called has been promoted to the rank of Assistant General Manager/Player Personnel. Masai has proven quickly to be a trusted and important part of the player procurement process including all aspects of scouting, talent assessment and related data management, says Raptors president. Masai, a former student of Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria played in Senegal '97 African Nations Cup squad, he played professionally mainly in Europe before retiring into player scouting and development. His specialty in scouting and developing young players endeared him to the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF and has served with various junior teams since 2002. Young players and parents in Nigeria will remember him more for his twice yearly basketball camps - The Top-50 and Big-Man Camps. The camps have held since 2003.
