CAM Members Visit Senate President
The members of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) for the City of Abuja Marathon (CAM) are putting preparations in a high gear as arrangements have been concluded to visit the Senate President, Senator David Mark and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole.
Professor Veronica Igbanugo, will lead the MOC delegation to impress on the minds of the distinguished Senator and Honourable Speaker, the National significance of CAM vis-à-vis the impact on the Nation’s image. This is against the backdrop of the tourist potential of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in view of the various international elite athletes that have been pencilled down for the race, their managers, the international media and a host of others that will storm the City of Abuja for the marathon. Therefore, the visit will among other things, bring to light the social and economic importance of CAM to the city of Abuja in particular and the country at large. In view of the grandiose preparations in top gear coupled with the very significance the City of Abuja holds in Africa, it’s only pertinent that we go on this visitation in order to intimate these senior citizens of Nigeria how far we have gone. On the issue of security, the MOC will equally visit the Inspector General of Police, FRSC, Civil Defense Corps; and a host of media houses base in Abuja, such the Africa Independent Television (AIT), Nigeria Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria among others. 0
