NFA Disowns Onigbinde
NFA Secretary General, Bolaji Ojo-Oba has cleared the air on the relationship between the association and member of FIFA Technical Study Group, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde.
According to Ojo Oba, there have been insinuations and speculations in the media, but the truth is that the Nigeria Football Association has not given Chief Onigbinde any appointment whatsoever. He is not in the NFA’s employ. Chief Onigbinde is an asset to Nigeria, with his technical knowledge of the game, sagacity and astuteness. He is highly experienced and he is only available to offer wise counsel to any of our Coaches. You should know that he is also the interim President of the Nigeria Coaches Association. For what Chief Onigbinde has achieved locally and internationally, and what he is still capable of, we are happy that even at 70, he is still strong, energetic, alert and visionary enough to contribute to Nigeria football. He is a man we should all celebrate, said Ojo-Oba. The septugenarian former Super Eagles’ World Cup Coach has been inundated with inquiries by the media in the past three weeks about his ‘new job’ at the NFA. 0
