Seedorf Disappointment, wish Arsenal well
A helpless Clarence Seedorf who has won four Champions League trophies, two of them with AC Milan had to look on as Arsenal ran out 2-0 winners at San Siro to progress to the quarter-finals.
The Dutchman has so often been Milan's talisman, and was left very disappointed by the early exit, one which means there will be no silverware for the club. “Tonight (Tuesday) Milan gave everything; I saw my team-mates play very well and we also held the pitch,” he said after the final whistle. “We were hoping to hit them towards the end, just like they did to us. “They did not put us too much in difficulty. We were forced to face Arsenal at a moment when we were not too brilliant. I wish them the best and let’s hope that they can win the competition." Seedorf is trying to look forward to Serie A, as they must focus on finishing fourth now. "Certainly, this is a great disappointment, but now we must recover our strength for a final effort and finish fourth in the league,” he continued. Carlo Ancelotti's position is also under a cloud of uncertainty. “In the dressing room, Galliani used words of encouragement, both for the team and the coach," revealed the veteran. "We must be very objective because you lose once in a while. Arsenal are first in their league not without good reason. “Milan gave everything. We could not do more than that. Now twelve very important games await us for in the push for fourth place. 0
