Nigeria '09: FIFA to inspect facilities February
World football-governing body, FIFA has said it will want to visit Nigeria from 14-21 February this year in order to assess the state of facilities and equipment with which the country wishes to host next year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Just last week, LOC’s principal officials visited Kano and Bauchi, two of the six centers proposed for the finals, having earlier seen what Lagos and Warri can offer. The LOC top shots will soon visit Enugu and check out the state of things at Abuja before FIFA’s first inspection next month. “We are aware of the responsibility that has bestowed on us and we will do everything to let the different venues know what they must do before FIFA’s visit, and what they must do subsequently to be eligible to host the world”, said Chief Executive Officer of the LOC, Mainasara Illo. 0
