Virgin Nigeria promise to support sports

Nigeria frontline airline, Virgin Nigeria Airways has promised to continue to do its best for the development of sports in Nigeria.

Virgin Nigeria who makes its fleet available for the lifting of the Nigeria Golden Eaglets to Abuja for the grand reception organized for the world champion by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Umar Musa Yar Adua.

Speaking recently in Lagos with www.nigeriasports.com, Virgin Nigeria Airways Sam-Ufuoma Ogbogoro, Corporate Communications Coordinator says the airline will do its best to continue to support the development and promotion of sports in Nigeria.

“We are responsible organization that realizes the importance of social responsibility and we shall strive to sustain what we have started.

“We will do our best in supporting sporting excellence in Nigeria as a responsible corporate organization as part of our social responsibility to the Nigeria society.

The Communications Coordinator of the airline says they would have been happy to fly the Nigerian Women Basketball team, The Tigress to and from Dakar, Senegal in the just concluded 20th Africa Nations Championship won by the women national team of Mali but that the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, did not respond well in what the airline demanded but were happy that in spite of the shortcoming the federation still deem it fit to fly the reputable airline.

Ogbogoro said Virgin Nigeria Airways will continue to play its leading role as a first class airline in Nigeria.
