Mali's Maiga is Africa best player (MVP)
Mali playmaker, Hamchetou Maiga has been adjudged the most valuable player (MVP) of the 20th Africa Nations Championship for Women, which ended last Sunday in Dakar, Senegal.
The WNBA player was the engine room of her team providing quality leadership off and on the court. 29 year-old Maiga’s was all her relied on to rattle the Senegalese side to win the African title and thus book an automatic 2008 Beijing Olympic ticket. He is fans delight any day, aside being adjudged the championship MVP she also made the continent Top-5, other players who made the Top-5 slot are, Carla Da Silva from Mozambique, Djene Diawara of Mali, Aya Traore from Senegal and Cape Verde’s Andrade Crispina Correia. Cote d’Ivoire won the championship fair-play award; Mali Djene Diawara was the best rebounder, while Carla Da Silva won the best three-point award. 0
