Still basking in the glory of a very successful outing at the U-17 World Cup in South Korean, assistant coach of the Golden Eaglets Ben Iroha has been unveiled as the new Chief Coach of the Dolphins football club of Port Harcourt The former Super Eagles full back who can be easily credited for the success of the Golden Eaglets at the just concluded U-17 World Cup in South Korea, will be assisted by George Onyenekwe as Assistant coach/ goalkeeper trainer, while Lawrence Akpokona is Technical Adviser.
According to a media release from the Dolphins camp, the new coaches are to start work immediately. They have all been given a one year contract in which they are expected to surmount the El Merriekh hurdle and play in the CAF confederation Cup final as well as bring Dolphins back to the Premier League.
Four previous coaches were not lucky and we did not renew their contracts after it expired at the end of the FA Cup. They are Ifeanyi Onyedika, Philip Boamah, Ere Dokubo and Ken Chukwu.
