Angola Président, Dos Santos honour Ekra
President of the Republic of Angola, Engr. Jose Edwardo Dos Santos in a small but elaborate ceremony held at Terrou-Bi Hotel, Dakar, Senegal honoured the president of the continental ruling body, Alain Ekra with two gift presented on behalf President Dos Santos by the president of the Angolan Basketball Federation, Gustavo Da Conceiçao.
According to the Angolan basketball boss, the gift one an iron cast of a man holding hid head thinking about the many problems ravaging his household and thinking on how best to solve them and the second a painting of a woman selling fish which he said signify the feeding of multitude. Conceiçao further explained that the two gift means a lot to his country one as a country that have passed through many difficulties in the past and they are trying to fashion out solution to the many problem and since Angola is a coastal country they hold dearly to fishing and a woman always play an important role in the feeding of her household. He said the same thing applied to the FIBA Afrique president who must always think of a way to solve the many problems of Africa basketball for the benefit of generation yet unborn and as father of Africa basketball Ekra must also think of assisting member federations to be efficient. The Angolan basketball top-shot says his federation plans to stage the grand finale of the Champions Club Cup competition in three cities. He said two cities used during the preliminaries stage of the African Cup of Nations hosted and won by his country, Angola, Huambo and Lubango are being proposed to host the preliminaries matches of the club championship while the Cidadela gymnasium in Luanda will host the finals.
