Cigarini Unworried By Milan Pedegree

Italian U-21 starlet Luca Cigarini has caught the eye on more than one occasion this season, netting for the Azzurrini against the Faroes and also providing an assist for Corradi in Parma's recent draw with Cagliari.

He said of the incident, "I don't really think I was that great against Cagliari, but I'm pleased to have set up Corradi for such a great goal."

Now, the player is delighted with the prospect of facing AC Milan on Saturday, feeling that the rossoneri's good showing against Benfica midweek might actually work in the Ducali's favour.

The 21 year old added, "I'll go there with no inhibitions, and can play a relaxed game: with no expectations on our shoulders, we can perhaps get a result."

And it would be an overdue win, Parma having drawn twice and lost one so far.

Cigarini concluded, "True, things haven't really gone our way so far, but we're showing good character and team spirit.

"We'd hoped for more than two points from nine, but we have the ability to turn it around."

The young lad spent a year on loan at Serie C1/A side Sambenedettese for the 2004-05 season before rejoining his youth club of Parma and breaking through to the first team. He has been capped 12 times for the young Azzurri.
