The installation of the new Executive Council of All Stars Int'l FC, Lagos took place last Sunday, at its Eagle Club Surulere Club House with a lot of fanfare.
The event which was chaired by Lagos State Commissioner for Youths, Sports & Social Development, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele equally attracted such renowned Nigerian Football Veterans as Pa Victor Potts-Johnson (Late Thunder Balogun's team mate), Peter 'Eusebio' Anieke, Amusa 'Bulldozer' Shittu, Dan Ajibode, Sunny Oyarekhua, Yomi Peters, Prosper Ajavon, Yisa Sofoluwe among others.
Oath-taking for the new officers to run the affairs of the club for the next two years was administered by Barrister Godwin Dudu-Orumen. G-65 tevevision head of sports, Effiong Nyong anchored the ceremony and the arena got spiced up with arrival of the Lagos State Governor - Babatunde Raji Fashola, the club's leading striker as well as SuperSports' Peterside Idah.
With the Yomi Pearse-led Exco gracefully bowing out after 2 terms, the new Exco of Emmanuel Ibru (President), Barrister Omodele Ibrahim (VP), Kingsley Anosike (Sec. Gen.), Taju Disu (Assist. Sec. Gen.), Chuks Mbakwe (Financial Sec.), Olanrewaju Babalola - Lagos State Chief of Staff (Treasurer), Olumide Fawole (Social/Welfare Sec.), Famous Otakponmwen (Provost), Francis Tandoh (T/Adviser), Emmanuel Iyoriobhe (Coach) and Yomi Opakunle (PRO) are set to take the club to global reckoning.
The new executive has since settle down to business as it will hold a historic '1-Day Retreat Session' next weekend at the Akodo resort to come out with a blueprint for its 2-year term.
Club spokesperson, Yomi Opakunle also disclosed that the club's Annual Bilateral-Relations activity comes on focus on September 27, 2007 when it hosts its Ghanaian counterparts, The Liberty Oldies of Accra in Badagry in commemoration of Nigeria's 47th Independence Anniversary.
