Obinna Going Nowhere, Insist Chievo![]() The prodigiously talented Nigerian is jointly owned by Inter and Chievo and has amassed a growing list of admirers due to the tremendous promise he has shown since arriving in Italy in 2005. However, the likes of Parma, Cagliari and Fiorentina look set to fail in their bid to take advantage of the Flying Donkey’s drop into Serie B and the fact that the Nerazzurri’s striker department is already overflowing with talent as is. The robustly built 20-year-old forward was expected to stick to the Serie A in some way, shape or form, following Chievo’s demotion, but instead it now seems that he will have to content himself with providing the goals to power the Verona side’s promotion push. “Obinna will play for Chievo next season,” insisted Chievo president Luca Campadelli. “There is a five-year contract and it will be respected.” Obinna’s situation is a complicated one in any case, seeing that Inter Milan helped to finance his move from Nigerian club Enyimba to Chievo in exchange for part-ownership of the player. Inter are reported to own the player's registration and have been loaning him to Chievo in a complex agreement which is made all the more curious by the fact that he recently signed a five-year deal with the Bentegodi side. 0
