Nigeria for Homeless World Cup in Denmark

The Nigerian team to the 5th edition of the Homeless World Cup in Denmark was recentlt granted entry visa by the Darnish Embassy in Cotonuo, Benin Republic.

The Nigerian team handled by former Super Eagles Assistant coach, Joseph Erico is made up of Oyegunle Olayiwola, Fola Kuku, Humphrey Udebuna, Nimikimi Mackintosh, Simon Okwori, Olamiju Joseph, Ibunkun Salako, Saheed Shittu, Isiaka Olarewaju and Jonas Agu.
 
According to the Project Director of Search And Groom and team selector, Yomi Kuku, 48 countries are billed to participate in this year edition of the tournament, which is expected to start on July 28 through August 5.
 
The team is expected to leave the country on Thursday 26th July, in order to meet up in time for the games to be declared open by HRH Prince Federik, Crown Prince of Denmark.
 
Meanwhile Kuku, has appealed to well-meaning Nigeria individuals, corporate and government establishments to come to the financial aid of the organization, as they seek money to purchase air ticket for the 13-member team.
 
The Search And Groom Project Director said the hope and aspirations of these young Nigerians would suffer if support does not come urgently, reckoning that the Homeless World Cup, supported by the United Nations is one of the focal point of achieving the Millennium Development Goals and a target at eradicating or reducing poverty to the barest minimum by 2015.
 
Kuku said “We hereby call on Nigerians who have the interest of the Nigeria Youth at heart to come to the financial aid of this team, assist them, so they can make the trip to Denmark, and participate at the 5th edition of the Homeless World Cup.
