Dolphin fires Onyedika, Boamah

Nigerian CAF Confederation Cup campaigner Dolphin football club of Port Harcourt have announced the suspension of its two coaches two weeks to their first match in the group phase of the Confederation Cup.

The duo of Coaches Ifeanyi Onyedika and Philip Boamah were handed an indefinite suspension for their public outburst on the relegation of the club to the second division.

The club owned by the Rivers State government accused the duo of making unguarded press statements over the relegation.

Onyedika who until his suspension was quoted as saying that the team's relegation was the result of poor motivation.

Team manager Diepreye Fiberesima accused the coaches of embarrassing the state government.

The Port Harcout side is grouped alongside rivals Kwara United, Egypt's Ismaili and Al-Merreikh of Sudan in Group B of the CAF Confederation Cup. The club is expected to name a new coach before their first group game against Kwara United on 22 July.
