FIBA U19 Cham: J/Tigers engage Bullets
Handlers of the Nigeria U19 national team led by Coach Adeka Dauda will have a first hand feelings of how prepared the twelve players selected for the 8th FIBA U19 World Championship when they confront Lagos City league third place finisher, Kennys' Bullets basketball club in a friendly nest Wednesday in Lagos.
The match will be the first since the final list of the African champion was announce last Thursday and a great way for the coaches to access the players fitness and level of preparedness. Coach Dauda said the match is important to the whole preparation as the players are in high spirit for the world championship which will get underway on July 12 as the African champion takes on Canada in its first group-C game. The Junior Tigers will confront world basketball power-house Australia on July 13 before rapping up its group game against Turkey on July 14, a win will ensure that the country advance to the next stage which is one of the target of the players and their handlers. According to team point guard and Lagos City league Most Valuable Player (MVP) Daniel Daudu, qualifying for the next stage is our primary concern and we believe this is achieveable, he concluded. 0
