Why I dumped Rivers Angels- Chikwelu Chikwelu played for Inneh Queens and was touted to move to Rivers Angels but she made an about turn joining FCT Queens and then Pelican Stars before her move to Finland to play for FC United. “I was really very young then and all I wanted to do was play football so when the Rivers Angels offer came I thought it would have been better than Inneh Queens where I was at the time. “However I was warned that the club had financial problems and that I could have faced the same things I went through in Benin so I chose to go to FCT Queens rather,” Chikwelu told nigeriasports.com. Besides the financial considerations, Chikwelu told nigeriasports.com that most of her team mates at Inneh Queens were lining up moves to join FCT and she did not want to break up with them. “Cynthia Uwak, Edith Eduviere and Lauretta Sadoe were all with me at Inneh Queens and when they said they were all going to Abuja I wanted to stay with them. “I do not regret the decisions I took then as I believe they were all for my good.” Chikwelu made her Falcons debut at the Africa Women Championships in Warri last year. She had earlier played in the FIFA u-20 World Cup for Nigeria in 2004 and 2006.
