Super Eagles Set to Tame Les' Mena

In its bid to ensure Nigeria hoist her flag in next year’s African Cup of Nations, Ghana 2008, Europe based players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have started arriving the Le Meridien Hotel camp, Abuja ahead of the Sunday 16th June 2007 group 3 qualifier against Niger’s Les Mena in Naimey, Republic of Niger.


 Notable among the players who has already arrived the country are Lile OSC of France Osazie Odenwinge and Bastia goal tender, Austin Ejide, who came in aboard Sunday Lufthansa flight. Captain of the Super Eagles, Nwankwo Kanu who has been in the country for the game was also a special guest at the MTN sponsored Best of Fans Football Competition, which was held at the University of Lagos Sports Complex.

Among the technical crew who also flew into the country ahead of the crucial encounter are the Head Coach of the the Super Eagles, Berti Vogts, goal keeper’s trainer Ulrich ‘Uli’ Stein and Nigerian born Technical Assistant, Emeka Ezeala.

This is a must win match for the Super Eagles who hangs their hope on a balance, following the 1-2 loss they suffered from the hands of the Cranes of Uganda early this month.

More invited members of the foreign based Super Eagles team are expected to arrive the country as Monday 11th June has been fixed as deadline for them to be in camp.
