Enyimba close to league title

Eyimba keeper, keeps Rangers out
Pre- tournament favourite, Enyimba football club of Aba looks set to clinch the 2007 Globacom league shield bagging all maximum points so far in the competition.

The elephants of Aba Friday defeated Rangers of Enugu 2-0 in what turned out a one sided affair after the pre- match hype.

The oriental battle touted as the super 4 decider had barely gone underway before the first goal was recorded by Enyimba's Ajibade Omolade in the 7th minute to put the Aba millionaires on the winning path.

Rangers were unlucky not to have equalized towards the dying moments of the game with full back, Obiekwu hitting the woodworks off a left side pull-out.

Enyimba buried the game in the second half with Junior Osagie, ex- Rangers striker hitting home from close range, leaving goal keeper, Chigozie Agbim helpless.

Gombe united in the second game of the day, defeated Wikki Tourist 1-0 to climb to second place ahead of Rangers on goal difference,

Gombe United can still steal the league shield away from Enyimba, provided they win by two unreplied goals when both sides meet on Sunday in what looks like the league decider.

The first two teams will go on to represent Nigeria in the CAF champions league.
