Falcons In litmus test

The Nigeria female national team, the Falcons will on June 3rd face their Algerian female counterparts in an away olympic qualifiers billed for 2008, reports nigeriasports.com.

The match which may turn out to be the Falcons toughest engagement enroute the olympics is to be played on a synthetic pitch, completely alien to the Nigerian ladies used to the more familiar grass pitches.

Chief coach of the side, Jossy Lad however allayed any fear as to that regard, assuring of victory.

"My girls are going all out for the three points at stake. We are aware the match is going to be played on a synthetic pitch and we are fully prepared. We won't underate any opposition, we will give them their due respect but victory will be ours all the way", the former 3SC coach revealed at the airport shortly before departure.

Some of the notable names on the players list includes goal keeper, Precious Dede, Defenders Kike Ajayi, Jerome Uluma,Ayisat Yusuf, Midfielders Perpetua Nkwocha, Effionwa Ekpo, Strikers Rita Chikwelu, Vera Okolo, Ifeanyi Chiejine et al.

The return leg comes up on June 17th in Oghara, Delta state.
