Abinu On Revenge Mission Against Amadin Abinu, who is still be haunted by the loss was quick to declare after edging out Omotayo Ibrahim in the semi-final that it would be a different ball game as "I cannot afford not to lift the cup this year after losing in the 2005 final to Osaro Amadin, I think I am ready to avenge and I believe with God on my side I will raise the cup for the first time," she said. Abinu, who was semi-finalist in last year's edition showed her superiority against ageing Ibrahim when she thrashed her 6-0, 7-5 to set up a revenge final against Benin City based Amadin. Amadin, who is using the tournament to return to form advanced to the final after beating indisposed Hannah Eke 6-4, 6-1. Eke, who had earlier vowed to make it to the final blamed her loss to Amadin on fatigue. "I think I lost because I was tired after playing non-stop for three hours against Ronke Akingbade in the quarter-final on Thursday. I could not believe I could even play the game but I tried my best and it was not good enough. I wish her luck in the final." Eke however, described this year's championship has been tough saying most of the players that took part in the competition really gave a good account of themselves.
