City league enter home stretch
The 3rd Lagos City league enters its home stretch this weekend as teams jostles for a place in the playoffs billed to jumpstart in the second week of June at the Sports Hall of the Lagos National Stadium with six matches slated for Saturday and three for Sunday.
On Saturday, Ebun Comets basketball club who lost its third place spot temporarily to Islanders basketball with a game at hand will square it up against Sea Rovers Academy at 0900 hours, Dodan Warriors basketball club will do battle against lowly Raptors at 10.30 hours, Warriors Academy whose dream of recording an upset during the mid-week pairing against Islanders will have it hand full against league leader, Union Bank basketball at Noon. Other pairing for Saturday will see Islanders basketball club continue in its quest for a place in the playoffs spot taking on Whales basketball club, Warriors Kadets takes to the court against defending champion, Kennys' Bullets basketball club while Police Bombers basketball club and Chariot gp for each other jogular in the last match of the day. And on Sunday Chariot will take on Ebun Comets at 14.00 hours, Police Bombers and Raptors will entertain the fans at 15.30 hours while the star-match of the day will be between Union Bank and Dodan Warriors at 17.00 hours. Last Wednesday Islanders moved to the third position with 32 points after seeing off stiff challenges from youthful and enterprising Warriors Academy 51-46, Sea Rovers had a field day against Kadets with a 68-36 points victory while Bullets shove aside Whales by 62-40 points.
